Glamping in the UK - The Secret Spa and Glamorous Glamping

Cold, Uncomfortable and Boring three words that would always come to my mind when I heard the word 'Glamping.'

However, Glamping is becoming increasingly popular with people seeking out different experiences and ways to spend time together. I have always wanted to go glamping but always hesitated because I thought it might not be 'my kinda thing' yet I came across The Secret Spa and Glamorous Glamping and was very intrigued as it mixed together going to a Spa but staying in Glamping Pods.

A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I visited The Secret Spa and had the best time so I thought I just had to share it with you!

(Disclaimer: I have not been paid nor sponsored to write this post I just had such a lovely time I wanted to let others know about this little gem!)
Situated in the Sperrin Mountains The Secret Spa shows beautiful views of the countryside yet being closed off and private to outsiders. The Secret Spa  is a Family owned business and originally opened as a Salon 11 years ago, only recently have they ventured into Glamping - which has really started to take off.

"You will be totally off the grid... and by off the grid we mean No Electricity, No TV and No Internet - can you handle this? You are switched off from the outside world in an idealistic and very tranquil remote setting." - The Secret Spa

On to our stay!

The April Rose Cottage

There are various deals available at The Secret Spa, however, the one we decided to go for was the "Valentines Couples Retreat", this included:
  • Overnight Stay
  • 30 Minute Treatment (Back massage / Facial)
  • 30 minute Hot Tub
  • 20 minutes Sauna
  • Milk, Tea, Coffee, Hot + Cold Water Provided in the pod
  • Marshmallows and Belgium Chocolate (For roasting on the fire)
  • Meat Pack (This included alotttt of food so you definitely won't go hungry!)
  • 10AM Breakfast Delivered to the Pod the next morning.

Overall Thoughts

The package we went for was perfect it allowed the day to be cut up nicely having enough time to ourselves and having enough activities to keep us busy. After the treatments and use of the facilities, you are left to do your own thing so I definitely advise bringing a box of cards or a book to read or you could just be lazy... and have a nice nap!

In terms of our overall stay, we had no complaints! There's something so nice about being cut off from wifi and your phones and just relaxing.

Ready for the cliche part? There is nothing as cute as cooking your food on an open fire then roasting marshmallows late at night while sipping wine and watching the stars, sound cringey? Try it...

I also wanted to mention that you could really tell how much David and Glynis care about their business and thoroughly enjoy what they do as they come across extremely genuine and very accommodating to everyone.
Throughout our stay I could see them rallying around all the customers and guests making sure everyone was ok and things were running smoothly, this is why I couldn't wait to write a post as I believe The Secret Spa deserves a lot more publicity for being so unique and brilliant to stay at.

For staying somewhere as small and basic as a glamping pod it was one of the best Spa Days I've ever had mixed with the relaxed atmosphere and just being cut off from the outside world.

The Secret Spa is somewhere I would definitely recommend if you want an affordable and off the grid getaway to relax for a couple of days with your other half, friends or family,
I will definitely be back!

Below I have linked their Facebook page as it's where you can keep up to date on the latest deals they have on:
