Eye masks have become very popular over the last few years being said to help with dark circles and puffiness... I for one never really bought into them though, I've tried various eye creams in the hope they would reduce my dark circles, yet they never did. So, I always thought why would am Eye Mask make a difference?
Recently the lovely ladies in my local No7 Boots Store gave me a few products to try out and review, one of these products was the newly launched No7 Hydrogel Eye Masks. So I thought I'd try them out and see if they really did make a difference!
What exactly do they do?
"Vitamin C works to visibly reduce the appearance of dark circles, while Vitamin E effectively conditions to promote healthy looking skin."
The Eye Masks are said to visibly reduce the appearance of shadows and puffy eyes. With continued use the Eye Masks work to reduce dark circles, leaving eyes looking brighter and more awake.

My Thoughts
Now before I start I must add I don't really struggle with puffy eyes more so, I'd struggle with dark circles. Therefore, I wasn't naive to think the masks would make a massive difference since my eyes are not extremely bad to start with.
On first application the masks are extremely cooling on the eyes and easy to apply without the worry of them sliding of my face. It reads on the package to keep them on for 10-15mins.
You soon forget they are on your eyes which I liked because I was worried they might irritate my eyes or feel annoying on the skin, so I was able to carry out doing things.

Price
The box contains x5 Eye Masks selling at £15 altogether. My first thought was this is quite expensive however after researching the prices of other brands similar to No7, at £3 per mask you can see they are is still a cheaper alternative.
The Result
I was actually pretty surprised to see the before and after of my eyes, while I wasn't expecting amazing results the masks definitely had brightened my under eyes and made them appear more awake looking. Trying them out has definitely swayed me about eye gel masks, maybe they are worth it!
Before & After |
Worth It or Not? Common Under Eye Concerns.
Dry Under Eyes - YES
Puffy Eyes - YES
Dark Circles - NO (some improvements however, if its your only concern not worth it)Overall Thoughts
★★★★★★½ 6.5/10
The Eye Masks do exactly what they say and as you can see from my before and after my eyes are more awake looking! I've gave them a 6.5/10 as they do work however I think they are designed more so for someone who struggles with puffy eyes or dry skin rather than just dark circles.
If you do struggle with puffy eyes I think that they would be a really handy product to have especially because they are so cooling on the eyes. In terms of applying makeup after using these I found concealer applied very smoothly to my under eyes as they were left feeling very hydrated and moisturised!
