Denim DIY: How To Make Tassle Hem Jeans

How to create Frayed Hemed Jeans Yourself : DIY

The raw hem jeans have been trending for the last few months with many different styles and looks coming out. Personally I've found it hard to find a style of jeans that I really like, with the tassels being to long or the jeans themselves being to short (I'm 5ft 8inch) So... why not just make them myself?

Its actually very easy!

Step One - Firstly, measure the length you want to crop the jeans too, I used some masking tape to trace out the line.

Step 2 - Once you have the length cut, add another piece of masking tape about a inch higher, this will be how long you want the tassels to be later.

Step 3 - With a pair of scissors cut vertical strips below the line of the tape, these strips should be around 5mm thick. (Be careful not to cut the seam in half this could cause the jeans to unravel.)

Step 4 - Pull apart the strips by either using tweezers or pinching the end and pulling them apart yourself, you should be left with something like this.

Pop them in the tumble dryer for 15mins to make them nice and fluffy and there you have it revamped jeans!
